Welcome to the blog for The Royal Order of the Indolent, a society for idlers and the idle-at-heart, and a bit of fun promotion for this fall's Idler's Glossary, by Joshua Glenn and Mark Kingwell.
For as long as mankind has had to work for a living, which is to say ever since the expulsion of Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden, people who work have disparaged those of us who prefer not to. This group aims to redress the balance, and will serve not merely to correct popular misconceptions about idling, but will work to put forward a foundation for a new mode of thinking about working and not-working.
This blog will see regular updates on all things related to work and not-working, with (ir) regular rambles through the world of art and literature. So check back on occasion, but make sure you do so on your boss's dime!
